"Park Ranger", although more commonly known as "Hymek" is a petrol-hydrostatic locomotive built in the early 1980's in Stockport. The locomotive came to the railway with a Villers engine, which required the engine to be stopped before a change of direction could take place, which proved very inpratical. It has since been fitted with a 5.5 hp Honda engine coupled to a Eaton hydrostatic gearbox. Hymek returned to service in January 2012, and has proved itself to be a reliable locomotive ever since. During the Spring and Summer of 2013, Hymek was repainted and had some cosmetic modifications in order for it to resemble a full size Hymek more closely.
